Dr. Janssen (MBP Adjunct Professor) conducted his PhD research in the Department of Physiology at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands and the Department of Biomedical Technology at the Eindhoven University of Technology (EUT). His doctoral project focused on the presence of spontaneous leukocyte rolling in the rat skin microcirculation. The Department is pleased to offer consulting services for projects associated with faculty and graduate student research. For one-on-one assistance on statistical methods and software tools, please contact Dr. Bureau for an appointment: Dr. Yves Bureau Phone : 519 646-6005 (ext 65739) Email: ybureau@lawsonimaging.ca

STATISTICAL ANALYSIS ASSISTANCE
for
graduate students
and faculty

After graduation, he worked for several years in sales and management positions in the pharmaceutical industry while remaining involved in scientific research. This made him aware that most biomedical students are rarely exposed to corporate settings which have significantly different dynamics than those found in academic institutions. Combining a strong scientific background with business and managerial acumen learned from working in a corporate environment has great benefits for both students and partner companies involved. It also increases opportunities for preferred placement in today's highly competitive global job market.
Dr. Janssen's hands-on experience enables him to act as a mentor for students interested in this type of career advancement.
To set up an appointment please contact him via his email: gjansse@uwo.ca
Research Interests:
Dr. Janssen’s current research focuses on the physiology of the microcirculation, more specifically on the optical signals associated with blood perfusion and the transportation of oxygen through tissue. He has recently received a major research grant from Covidien, a corporate partner with Western.

Students and faculty members are encouraged to take advantages of the consulting services offered by Dr. Yves Bureau (MBP Adjunct Professor) who serves as the “on-call” statistician to the Department.
Advice is provided on the design of experiments or interpretation of results with considerable variability (e.g. data from a small group of biological specimens, small animals, or clinical subjects).
