Program Scholarship Awards

Each student will have a minimum of two opportunities to apply for program scholarship awards, while studying in the program. Applications for awards are accepted in the winter term and based on demonstration of engagement and excellence in performance in the program. The awarding process is competitive. Funds are awarded in the spring of each year. Students in the program will receive further information on application prior to the application period.

Basic eligibility for program scholarship awards is based on time in the program, courses completed or in progress and the completion of other program requirements.

Travel Awards

Program Travel Awards

Students in the program may apply for funds to support attendance at conferences, short courses or workshops that enrich their Collaborative Environment and Sustainability program educational experience. Travel Award applications are accepted in the winter term for travel within the same academic year. The awarding process for travel awards is competitive. Students in the program will receive further information on application prior to the application period.

Value: 10 awards of up to $500

AER Global Opportunities Awards

Awarded to full-time graduate students enrolled in the Collaborative Environment and Sustainability program. These scholarships enable students to participate in a Western University international experience or study abroad program for which academic credit or approval from the department or faculty will be obtained. This includes academic exchange programs; approved study abroad programs; curriculum based international field courses/research; international community service learning; volunteer opportunities and internships led by Western University. To qualify for these awards, the experience must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Be organized by Western University staff, faculty or department
• Be eligible for academic credit OR
• Form a required component of the student's degree program

Students participating in any of the above listed programs who are registered at the constituent University may be considered. Students must have completed their prescribed academic program the previous year and currently be registered in a full-time course load. Students may apply for this award in advance of being accepted into an eligible international learning program with receipt of the award contingent upon acceptance into the program. Application is through the Global Opportunities website. The deadline for submissions is March 15. Awards will be announced in early May.

Advisory Information on post-degree Employment

Students in the program will attend classes focussing on employment preparation and will have the opportunity to seek employment preparation advice from the Centre's employment advisor on an individual basis.
