Special Topics
Special topics courses are offered to take advantage of new or visiting faculty, and/or innovative course development. These courses provide an opportunity for students to gain exposure to current issues and explore future trends within kinesiology. A particular special topics course may be offered only once, or for one to three years. Students are advised to make sure they have the required prerequisites before registering.

Physical Activity and Coaching
Courses for Non-Kinesiology Students
Non-Kinesiology students are permitted to take up to 1.0 Kinesiology courses per year. To determine if/when a Kinesiology course opens, please review the Requisites and Constraints column of the Western timetable.
NOTE: Kinesiology activity-based courses taught during the fall/winter do not open to students outside the program. Students wishing to take activity-based courses can do so during the summer term.
