Volunteer Appreciation

banquet tables

Each year, Western Foot Patrol has between 250-350 volunteers. We appreciate and thank our volunteers in various ways, to make sure each and every volunteer feels valued.  Despite our efforts, our volunteers most value a simple “thank you” at the end of the day!

Refreshments

We provide hot and cold water, tea and hot chocolate for volunteers on shift.  We do have coffee and a coffee maker available. The only thing we ask is for volunteers to bring their own reusable mug in order to reduce waste.

Weekly Prize Draws

During their shift, volunteers can enter our weekly prize draws. Each week is different and has included gift certificates for restaurants, entertainment and merchandise throughout London. Numerous Western departments also contribute amazing weekly prizes because they recognize the value of the service and appreciate the valuable efforts of our volunteers!

Volunteer Appreciation Banquet

Our Volunteer Appreciation Banquet is held at the Great Hall each March and is our formal way to say “thank you” to our volunteers. The evening includes a 3 course meal, volunteer awards, draw prizes and speeches of appreciation from the Vice President of Resources & Operations, the Director of Campus Police and the Foot Patrol Program Manager.  It is a fun-filled night where we recognize our volunteer contributions and have fun!

References

Reference letters, references for professional school or employment will, upon request, be provided to volunteers in good standing who have contributed the minimum number of shifts and who meet the minimum requirements for references.  For more information, please contact a staff member.
