Western is focused on becoming a global leader in international education. As part of this international strategy the Staff Working Group on International Engagement (SIE) is developing opportunities for Western staff to participate and lead initiatives that reach beyond our campus.
To encourage global awareness and impact, Western’s staff international engagement group is establishing partnerships with several leading development organizations. We invite you investigate how to become involved and share your talents aimed at benefiting society and increasing our collective global awareness.
As new international opportunities are developed for staff engagement they will be posted on this website. If you have questions/suggestions regarding staff international engagement please contact:
Western's Staff Working Group on International Engagement (SIE), in partnership with the Student Success Centre, is launching another exciting development opportunity for full-time and part-time employees at Western - the Staff Alternative Spring Break (SASB) initiative.
Through this program, selected staff will have an opportunity to participate, together with other Western staff, in a one-week service experience abroad during Reading Week, 2015 (February 14-22). Partnering with the Rotary Clubs of London and Salina Cruz, SIE has developed the inaugural 2015 SASB experience to involve Western staff in the renovation of the Paul Harris Elementary School in Salina Cruz, Mexico.
The deadline to apply for this opportunity is September 24, 2014 by 4 pm. An information session will be held Wednesday, September 17 from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. in UCC 147A.
