Richard Pound to deliver 2016 Earle F. Zeigler Lecture

Dick Pound, Chairman of the IOC's Olympic Broadcasting Services and former President of the World Anti-doping Agency, will deliver the the 2016 Earle F. Zeigler Lecture at the 2016 ICOS International Symposium for Olympic Studies, held at the University of Espírito Santo, Vitória, Brazil, July 30-31. His Lecture will investigate the significance of new and social media for the production of Olympic narratives. The Lecture is scheduled for the early afternoon of July 30.

Richard "Dick" Pound, CC OQ QC, is a Canadian lawyer and author, and a former competitive swimmer. He is a former president of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) based in Montreal, and a former chancellor of McGill University. He served as vice-president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from 1987 to 1991 and again from 1996 to 2000, and was a one-time candidate for the presidency of that organization.
