Funding

 

All students admitted to the Program will receive full funding for each of the two years as part of the normal process for funding graduate students in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.  The basic funding package will be comprised of the following:

  • Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTA)
  • Western Graduate Research Scholarship (WGRS)
  • Any additional funds mandated by the Collective Agreement between the University and the Teaching Assistants' Union.

Exceptional applicants may be offered in addition one of the following Entrance Scholarships.  In accordance with the decision of the Program Committee and the Graduate Chairs of two constituent Departments: Provost Entrance Scholarship ($4000); Dean's Entrance Scholarship ($2000); Chair's Entrance Scholarship ($1000).  There are also funding opportunities for students through various government-funded grant competitions, including the Ontario Graduate Scholarship and the Joseph-Armand Bombardier CGS Masters Scholarship from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council.
