This funding provides salary support to individuals enrolled in a PhD program and undertaking full-time research training in the cardiovascular or cerebrovascular field. A limited number of Doctoral Research Awards will be supported by HSFC at any given time.Awards are normally tenable in Canadian universities but may, under exceptional circumstances, be awarded to Canadian applicants for study abroad |

Application Details: |
Applicants must have a minimum of One first or second authored paper published or in press in a peer reviewed journal at the time of submission & An overall grade of 80% or A- for graduate level courses. Applicants possessing a medical degree and enrolled in a PhD program, but who do not hold a license to practice medicine in a province or territory of Canada, are eligible contingent on meeting the Minimum Eligibility Criteria (2.1a and b).INDIRECT COSTS MUST NOT BE LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM |

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. |
