Description:

The Foundation Fighting Blindness - Canada (FFB-C) annually awards grants supporting research into retinal function and its disorders. The objective of The Foundation Fighting Blindness - Canada is to support research into the origin, detection, prevention, treatment and cure of retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration and related blinding retinal diseases.

Only successful LOIs will be invited to complete a full application. Your Operating Grant application, Common CV and supporting documents are to be submitted online only once you have written confirmation that your LOI is accepted.

Application Details:

First priority will be given to projects in which these objectives are approached directly, using any appropriate methodology (cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, etc.). Basic research not directly related to RP, macular degeneration or related retinal disorder will be supported only if the applicant provides clear and reasonable justification for its relevance.

The signature form must be received (by fax, mail or courier) by the FFB-C no later than the application deadline of February 15, 2010.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM.

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
