Description:

Graduate Student Research Awards support students registered in a Doctoral research program focused on the physical-biological or social aspects of intellectual impairment including: - The causes, treatment and eventual cure of intellectual impairment, especially children affected by Autism and Down Syndrome. - The causes, treatment and eventual cure of Alzheimer's Disease. - Early identification and intervention in potentially disabling conditions - Minimizing long-term disability and lessening the effects of the disability - Other forms of intellectual impairment may be considered

Applications will be assessed according to the following criteria: a) The potential of the student b) The quality of the proposed research project c) Relevance to the focus areas described above d) Potential impact on the field of research and the focus group Applications must be submitted on official SRCF forms (SRCF ?SA- 2009) and include the original copy of the following: Completed form SRCF-SA-2009 1. Statement of Financial Status 2. Curriculum Vitae 3. Publication List 4. Reprints/Abstracts 5. Non-Scientific Summary 6. Research Proposal 7. Research Supervisor Form In addition for the following only the original copy is required of the following: 1. Official University Transcripts 2. Reference Letters

Application Details:

Applications are invited from candidates currently enrolled in a Doctoral Programme at a Canadian University.

Applicants must submit the unbound original with signatures on or before the deadline date. Applicants are also required to email the completed application form preferably in PDF format to grantsubmission@srcf.ca on or before the deadline date. Applications submitted in other formats will not be accepted for review and the application will be rejected without review.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM.

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
