Description:

Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to reaching every Canadian affected by a brain tumour through support, education, information, and research. The program supports scientific investigations being conducted in Canada into the cause, behaviour and treatment of brain tumours. Investigations focused on the mechanisms of brain tumour generation and growth, novel treatments, and on quality of life are of great interest. However, any proposal of scientific merit will be considered.

As much as possible, the outline of the research should be written in lay terms. The members of the Research Committee of Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, who will be reviewing the grant applications, are from many different backgrounds: medicine, industry, business, philanthropy, etc. If you feel that it is necessary to use complex terminology, please try to explain the terms as much as possible. The Research Committee may also seek the help of outside reviewers if it is deemed necessary.

Application Details:

Researchers are encouraged to consider applying for funds to study novel approaches to brain tumours for which further funding could be applied for from other research funding organizations. The principal applicant must have an appointment at a university, research institute, hospital or pharmaceutical company Research with a pediatric focus will be processed separately. At least one research grant will be dedicated to this area. We reserve the right to carry these funds over to the next round of applications if no suitable applications are received.

Please mail the original and nine (9) copies of the completed grant application to the Sponsor by the deadline date.

INDIRECT COST OF 40% MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE BUDGET.

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
