Description:

This is an "in-training" award intended for applicants who are within four years of obtaining their PhD, MD or equivalent degree. The objective is to attract and foster young investigators to initiate and/or continue training in kidney research.

The stipend award is determined by the program's post-doctoral salary scale, preference may be given to 3-year applications. Each application is considered to be a joint submission by the applicant and the proposed supervisor.

Application Details:

Awards are tenable under the supervision of investigators holding an academic appointment and in areas of investigation where it is clear that the research has direct relevance to kidney disease. The program must include involvement in actual research. Candidates with more than four years of Post-PhD research training by the competition deadline are not eligible to apply for this award.

Electronic files must be submitted on a CD; DVDs are not accepted. When naming your files, add numbers to your file names, in ascending order, so that the documents appear in correct order on the CD. Applications must be submitted on the prescribed forms, which are available on the KRESCENT Program Website or at the National Office of The Kidney Foundation of Canada. The KRESCENT program has implemented a zero-tolerance policy for late and incomplete applications. Failure to adhere to the guidelines and regulations will result in rejection of an application, without possibility of appeal.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
