Description: |
These awards help scientists further develop studies on the cusp of moving from the laboratory into patient testing. These $75,000 one year grants often support the collection of the preclinical data researchers need to apply for major funding from other sources, such as the National Cancer Institute (NCI) or the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stoke (NINDS). Human studies and basic science studies not at the translational phase are excluded from consideration. |

Application Details: |
Applicants must be in the earlier years of their investigator career. Criteria for funding include the quality and therapeutic potential of the research, the quality of the laboratory environment, and the applicant. The grant funds can be expended for research related expenses and must include a trip to Chicago at the end of the funding period to present research results.INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM |
