Description:

Four types of support provided: Research Project, New Scientist Award, Data Analysis Grants, Pilot Preliminary Studies. Applicants need not specify the type of support they are requesting and should be aware that funds are not set aside specifically.

Funding priority is given to innovative research relevant to alcohol use/misuse, for career development of new PIs, for the analysis of national/regional data sets and for pilot feasibility studies.

Application Details:

The Foundation accepts applications for grants to conduct research on all aspects of alcohol consumption and its effects. Please ensure that the focus is directly related to the mission of the Foundation.

o apply for a grant from ABMRF/The Foundation for Alcohol Research, please select Apply Online where you can set up a user account and begin drafting your grant application. Users may sign in and revise the draft as often as necessary until submitting the completed application. Researchers applying for a new grant project or revising a previously submitted grant application should select ?New Grant Project.? Current grant recipients who are nearing the end of the first year of funding for a two-year project should select ?Continuation Grant Project.? In addition to submitting the online application, researchers are asked to print and sign one copy of the completed form and all of the appendix documents to submit to their institutional official for signed authorization and mail the hardcopy that must be postmarked by the application deadline.

INDIRECT COSTS OF 15% MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE BUDGET

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
