The Department of Defense (DoD) Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OCRP) supports high-impact, cutting-edge research that fills unmet needs. The OCRP establishes priorities to target the most critical needs along the pipeline from basic to translational to clinical research and to push the field of ovarian cancer forward in our vision to eliminate this disease. The OCRP Pilot Award supports conceptually innovative, high-risk/high-reward research that could ultimately lead to critical discoveries or major advancements that will drive the field of ovarian cancer research forward. The proposed research must demonstrate a clear focus on ovarian cancer (e.g., using tissues, cell lines, datasets, or appropriate animal models, etc.). The proposed research should include a testable hypothesis based on strong scientific rationale and serve as a catalyst to expand or modify current thinking about and/or approaches in ovarian cancer. Preliminary data are not required, but are allowed, since the goal of this award is to generate preliminary data. The strength of the application should be based on sound scientific rationale and logical reasoning. Clinical trials will not be supported by this award mechanism. |

Proposal submission is a two-step process consisting of (1) a pre-application submission through the CDMRP eBRAP system, and (2) a proposal submission through Grants.gov (http://www.grants.gov/).

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
