The Alzheimer's Association Research (AARG) aims to fund investigators who are less than 15 years past their doctoral or medical degree or investigators that are new to Alzheimer's and related dementia field of research. The purpose of this program is to provide newly independent investigators with funding that will allow them to develop preliminary or pilot data, to test procedures and to develop hypotheses. The intent is to support early-career development that will lay the groundwork for future research grant applications to the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation and other funding agencies and groups, including future proposals to the Alzheimer's Association.

All AARG applications must target defined areas of focus for fiscal year 2016 to be considered responsive to the program announcement (see Section II). Please review the sponsor's website for full details.

Application Details:

Applicants must be Assistant Professors or above at their respective institution. Eligibility to apply for this grant competition is restricted to investigators who have less than 15 years of research experience after receipt of their terminal degree (doctorate or medical degree). The 15-year period applies to the date of submission of the grant application.

Applications must be received by 5:00 PM EASTERN STANDARD TIME, May 10, 2016 through the proposalCENTRAL on-line application system at proposalcentral.altum.com. Applications will not be accepted without an approved LOI.

INDIRECT COSTS OF 10% MUST BE INCLUDED IN YOUR BUDGET

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
