There is a special emphasis on innovative proposals that have the potential to contribute to the understanding of fundamental mechanisms of disease processes and/or contribute to their cure. Funds can be used to purchase equipment and for general operating expenses specified in the budget proposal, including salaries for technicians, post-doctoral fellows, graduate and summer students. |

Application Details: |
The Banting Research Foundation will support the work of young Canadian Scientists to initiate their research program with an annual grant of up to $20K. Applicants should be new investigators within the first three years of their first independent university/research institute appointment, receiving less than $150,000 in total start-up funds. Applications must be completed on the Foundation's Application Form and bear the requested signatures. The written material should not exceed seven (7) single-sided pages. However, if required the applicant is allowed to add a maximum of three (3) pages to the Research Proposal section - page 4 of the Application Form, in addition to the reference page(s). One original and 12 double-sided photocopies of the entire application on 3-hole punched 8.5 x 11paper should be forwarded to: The Executive Director. NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
