Description:

The broad purpose of the Standard Research Grants program is to support research and develop excellence in research activities in the social sciences and humanities. Standard Research Grants are available for three-year programs of research. The value of these grants is up to a maximum of $100,000 per year, but not totalling more than $250,000 in a three-year period.

This program support high quality independent programs of research, as proposed by scholars and judged by their peers; provide opportunities for the training of future researchers; maintain and develop vigorous disciplinary research activities.

Application Details:

NOI must be submitted by August 15. Various application categories available. All applicants and participants must meet the eligibility criteria specific to their category. Please note that Standard Research Grant applications must be submitted electronically; paper copies are no longer accepted. Applications must be submitted by an authorized research grants officer from the applicant?s institution.

SSHRC strongly recommends that an NOI be submitted by 16 August 2010. Five main categories of eligible applicants: Applicant/principal investigator, Co-applicant/co-investigator, Research collaborator, Student assistant, and other assistants and support staff.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
