Sponsor/Award: CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY RSRCH INST - INNOVATION GRANTS - 2018 SPRING COMPETITION

Grant Amount: MAX $200K OVER 3 YEARS
Deadline: Dean's: Contact your Faculty Research Office for deadline details.
Internal: Mar 22, 2018
Sponsor's: Mar 29, 2018

Subject Areas: Cancer
Description:

The goal of this grant program is to support unconventional concepts, approaches or methodologies to address problems in cancer research. Innovation projects will include elements of creativity, curiosity, investigation, exploration and opportunity. Successful projects may involve higher risk ideas, but will have the potential for "high reward", i.e. to significantly impact our understanding of cancer and generate new possibilities to combat the disease by introducing novel ideas into use or practice.

The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) in partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research-Institute of Cancer Research (CIHR-ICR), will jointly fund the Innovation Grants program. Proposed work should incorporate multi-pronged high risk/high reward approaches and stimulate new partnerships between researchers and experts in the cancer field. In addition, as a result of a generous donation, there is funding available for a meritorious application focused on uterine cancer. Applications are encouraged in this area.

Application Details:

Abstract registration must be completed in order to submit a full application. All applications must be submitted through the online application system (EGrAMS) by 5p.m. EST on the deadline date. Specific guidelines for the online application are available. See Sponsor website for more detail.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval.
