Description:

Doctoral Student Research Awards provide recognition and support for exceptional students pursuing a doctorate degree in the field of diabetes in Canada. Candidates are expected to have an exceptionally high potential for future research achievement and productivity.

Please see program guidelines for detailed information. For Doctoral Student Research Award applications, official transcripts must be mailed to the Canadian Diabetes Association. See section 3.0 of the guidelines for details. Please indicate on the application form the name of the institution where the transcripts will be coming from. All transcripts must be received by February 1, 2012. Any transcripts received after this date will not be included in the review.

Application Details:

Students who are enrolled in a full-time graduate program in diabetes research are eligible for support. At the time of applying the candidates must have completed at least 12 months of graduate study at the Master's or PhD level, and have been registered for no more than 36 months as a full-time student in a doctoral program.

Applications must be submitted in electronic format only using the PDF fillable form. Please submit only ONE application. Applications must be completed and submitted electronically to CDA by Wednesday, February 1, 2012.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM.

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
