Description:

Applications are invited from active or associate members of the CAS who propose to carry out an original project and are eligible for a New Investigator Award.

An applicant is eligible for a New Investigator Operating Grant if he/she commenced independent practice or received his/her first faculty appointment within five years of the application deadline. Applicants who have been in practice for five or more years at the time of application may be eligible for a New Investigator Operating Grant if they have undertaken significant research training (i.e., obtaining a Master's degree or PhD) within the past three years

Application Details:

There are three awards available ranging from $20K to $30K. Grants in aid of research are offered in the form of individual awards derived from contributions to the Canadian Anesthesia Research Foundation (CARF), and research grants from industry.

Applicants are expected to submit a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)-validated CommonCV by the application deadline. No other format will be accepted. For more information on the CommonCV, please refer to the www.commonCV.net website. The CommonCV Information Sheet shows how to create a CIHR-validated pdf file of CommonCV. The completed Application must be submitted online via the Sponsor's website. Please note their deadlines for ethical approvals submission.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM.

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
