Description:

The Subspecialty Operating Grants are research grants that cover the direct costs related to a specific research project or program, such as research staff, material and supplies, equipment, and other such operating costs. The grant is not to be used for salary support of the investigator or for institutional overhead.

An applicant may be at any stage of his/her career development, but must hold a faculty appointment at a Canadian medical school.

Application Details:

The applicant must be a CAS member in good standing at the time of application and must remain a member in good standing during the tenure of the award.

Applicants are expected to submit a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)- validated Common CV (and Attachments) by the application deadline. No other format will be accepted. For more information on the Common CV, please refer to the www.commonCV.net website. The Common CV Information Sheet shows how to create a CIHR-validated PDF of the Common CV and a Word document of the required CV Attachments. All documents must be submitted online by no later than Friday, January 6, 2012.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
