Description: |
Funds are available from the CRS to support new or continuing research activities by independent scientists or small groups of investigators. Operating grants are usually awarded for a period of two years for a maximum amount of $60,000 per year. All applicants must hold an academic appointment in a Canadian university or accredited institution. Please note that submission of a letter of intent is compulsory for all researchers who wish to submit an application within the 2017 Cancer Research Society operating grant competition. The deadline for submitting a letter of intent is December 5, 2016, 11:59 pm (EST). |

Application Details: |
Renewal applications are expected to demonstrate the progress achieved with the money received to date, and they will be judged not only on the merit of the scientific proposal but also the progress made to date. Different basic research categories fall within the realm of the operating grants.
Research funds cannot be used for equipment or travel. Only those applicants who submitted a Letter of Intent may submit a complete application. Applicants will receive an e-mail with the PIN(s) assigned to their project(s) no later than December 16, 2016. If by January 4, 2017 you have not received the confirmation e-mail with your PIN(s), please contact us without delay at grants@src-crs.ca.INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM. |

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
