Clinical Scholar Research Awards - Created to further the understanding of clinical practice in anesthesiology and related sciences through clinical investigations. Research must involve human subjects, in vivo or in vitro. The maximum amount to be awarded for any project is $80,000 paid in two equal annual installments. The awards will go to projects that are judged by peer review to have high scientific merit and high probability of success. Priority funding will be awarded to those proposals that are independent of other extra-mural grant support. Experienced investigators working in new areas will receive consideration. Research must involve human subjects, in vivo or in vitro. Applicants must identify a senior mentor at their institution whose participation is important for the success of the study. |

Application Details: |
The principal applicant must be a member of the IARS and an investigator with research experience but who has yet to establish a history of substantial funding and be less than ten years after completion of clinical training or PhD. Prior recipients of an IARS Clinical Scholar Research Award are not eligible to apply. 1.The official online application must be used. The "Certification" and "Acceptance" terms of the application are basic and integral conditions of the Award.
6.Applications must include documentation of 1) project approval by the Institutional Review Board and 2) a patient informed-consent form, if required.
7.A letter of recommendation from the applicant?s mentor, explaining their participation in the proposed study must be attached.
2.All information requested in the application and appendices must be supplied. Failure to do so will disqualify the application.INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM. |

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. |
