The CIFSRF is a 5-year program that funds a wide variety of applied research projects that aims to solve immediate and concrete food security challenges on the ground in the developing world. The goal of the CIFSRF is to promote more productive and sustainable agricultural systems that make food more secure and nutritious. The CIFSRF funds partnerships between research organizations in Canada and in the developing world. The goal of the Fund is to foster the development of more productive and environmentally sustainable agricultural systems that increase food security and enhance nutrition in developing countries. Proposed research should clearly address real, practical development challenges related to the objectives of the Fund, targeting the poor and most vulnerable groups, and with the potential to generate applied research results within the lifetime of the research project?and potential development impacts within three years after the project ends. |

Application Details: |
The calls for proposals will be open to applicant partnerships from Canadian organizations and developing country organizations based in eligible countries, including academic institutions, private sector organizations with a research mandate, civil society organizations, and research-based organizations. Proposals must be prepared and submitted jointly by Canadian and developing country organizations.The criteria for the 2011 Call are different, so we encourage applicants to review the 2011 call document carefully to ensure that their research idea and concept note are a fit with the 2011 Call for Concept Notes. Concept notes must be submitted by the deadline of 11:59 p.m., Eastern Time Zone, March 23, 2011, using the online application form. Applications received by the deadline and deemed by IDRC to be compliant with the requirements set out in this call will be evaluated in accordance with the process outlined herein. Applications received after the deadline WILL NOT be considered. |

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. |
