Research by junior fellows should work towards addressing the challenge of finding alternative development options or policy sets that achieve the ASEAN goals of strong economic growth and greater regional integration without the increased inequality that has become pervasive in the last two decades. This should include policy mechanisms and responses that will reduce the extent of inequality or reduce the costs that are imposed on certain groups, as well as develop effective multi-level governance, including more successful integration within ASEAN.

The research proposal would need to be on issues/topics that are transnational in nature, analyse regional processes and impacts, and would have significance to ASEAN?s regional development. To reflect on ASEAN and Canada?s priorities and/or expertise, this fellowship focuses on the theme of `Towards Balanced Growth ? Alternative Development Models and Redistribution Mechanisms?.

Application Details: Applicants should normally possess a minimum of a Master Degree and have no more than 5 years of experience since their last degree.All interested applicants should submit their applications via email by 15 August 2012 (Wednesday).
