The Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2013 Canada-Latin America and the Caribbean Research Exchange Grants (LACREG) program. This program has been managed by the AUCC with financial support from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) since 1995.
The purpose of this program is to strengthen international partnerships and consolidate emerging networks among academic researchers from Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean. It is designed to support small collaborative research activities which will contribute to the creation, dissemination and application of knowledge in the development process in at least one of IDRC?s programming areas. An electronic copy of the application (complete with electronic signatures) must be emailed to AUCC at lac@aucc.ca by:

The electronic application must be submitted as a single file and preferably in PDF format (multiple files and attachments will not be accepted). Please do not send a hard copy of your proposal to AUCC.
AUCC will acknowledge receipt of all applications. Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria listed in the eligibility checklist will not be forwarded to the selection committee. |

Application Details: |
Researchers from Canada and eligible Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries are encouraged to apply. The LACREG program applies to collaborative research between Canada and the following LAC countries: Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Support through this program will be cost-shared on a 2:1 ratio by the program and the partner institutions, respectively. The maximum value of each grant under this program will be $15,000 CDN. |

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
