JDRF provides "seed" funding for highly innovative research with potential significant impact on accelerating the mission of JDRF. The innovative research should have the potential for a change in the current paradigm or conventional wisdom or to lead to a seminal discovery or to be groundbreaking. Preliminary data is not required in the proposal but the underlying premise, goal, or hypothesis must be plausible and the proposal must be focused with a well defined goal. The innovative grant research plan may not exceed 3 pages, including figures and tables, and
preliminary studies are not required. Applications with research plans exceeding the page limit will not be reviewed. |

Application Details: |
Applicants must hold an M.D., D.M.D., D.V.M., Ph.D., or equivalent and have a faculty position or equivalent at a college, university, medical school, or other research facility. JDRF is transitioning to a new online Research Management System called RMS360 in the spring and summer of 2013. Beginning May 20, 2013, researchers can register in RMS360. Beginning July 1, 2013 all proposal details and templates will be available to researchers in RMS360. The proposal deadline is August 30, 2013.INDIRECT COSTS OF 10% MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT BUDGET |

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
