Description:

PromoScience program offers financial support for organizations working with young Canadians to promote an understanding of science and engineering (including mathematics and technology). Organizations may request funds for up to three years at a time.

PromoScience will allow an organization to hold multiple concurrent awards as long as the organization clearly demonstrates in the application that there is no overlap in any way with activities already supported by active PromoScience grants, or with other proposals submitted to the same PromoScience competition by the same organization.

Application Details:

Grants may be used to cover improvements to program content/delivery, and for new programs and activities. Grants can also cover operational costs (i.e. salaries, travel, postage, materials, supplies) related to the promotion of science and engineering. NSERC's contribution is generally up to one-third of a program's funding. In past competitions, the majority of requests ranged from $15,000 to $20,000 per year.

The onus is on the applicant to submit a complete application and one that conforms to the General Presentation Guidelines established by NSERC. Incomplete applications and applications that do not meet the presentation standards may be rejected or be at a disadvantage in comparison with those that are complete and respect the presentation standards. NSERC's contribution is generally up to one-third of a program's funding. Up to five letters of reference; these are highly recommended, as applications without letters of reference may be at a disadvantage in the competition. Applications may be submitted Electronically via the Secure Submissions for NSERCs Innovative Collaborations and Science Promotion Programs Web site. It is preferable that documents be submitted in Portable Document Format (PDF). Applications may also be submitted by mail PromoScience NSERC 350 Albert Street Ottawa, Ontario K1A 1H5

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
