Description:

**This is the Final Year for this Program - only Eligible Renewals will be accepted.** The Career Investigator award of HSFO is awarded to individuals with an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree, who are established and recognized independent research workers in the field of cardiovascular and/or cerebrovascular disease who wish to make research in these fields a full-time career. Such individuals would be expected to have achieved national recognition at the time of the first application and clear evidence of this national stature should be provided. Accordingly, applicants should provide letters attesting to this.

For the 2014/2015 CI competition, applications will only be accepted from individuals eligible to apply for a first or second renewal award this fall. Questions regarding eligibility should be addressed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Ontario Research Office.

Application Details:

The individual must be proposed by a university or an affiliated institution, which must guarantee the Career Investigator an appropriate academic rank and provide adequate space and facilities for his/her research, commensurate with the status of the individual in terms of experience and level of support by the Foundation.

Applicants are strongly cautioned to carefully read and follow the instructions and requirements outlined in this guideline document as well as the Checklist page of the application form. Please view website for greater detail. Applications for the Career Investigator award must be received by the Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) no later than 16:00 (EDT) on August 29, 2013.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM.

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
