Description:

Research grants may be used to employ assistants (technical or professional) or student trainees, to remunerate professional advisors, to purchase materials and supplies, and to support field travel costs related to research.

The Ontario Physiotherapy Association Kim Wolny Research Grant (OPARG) has been established in memory of Kim Wolny, Past President of OPA and recognizes innovative leadership in the development of the profession in Ontario. This Grant provides support for physiotherapy research projects that focus on new and emerging roles and programs for physiotherapists in the Ontario health system, and investigates potential effects of such roles/program on health outcomes for Ontarians and health system effectiveness. Projects across the continuum of health services will be considered though projects with a focus on decreasing wait times, primary health/primary health care, chronic disease management or health promotion/disease prevention will be given preference. An award of $10,000 will be made annually to an applicant for an Ontario-based research project.

Application Details:

Research projects must have a defined objective that is designed to further develop the art and science of physiotherapy.

Applications for research grants must be received at the Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada's offices by February 18, 2011 on the current Application Form (applicants are responsible for making certain they are using current version of the application regulations and guidelines). Applicants must submit one hard copy and one soft copy of the completed application and all attachments.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
