Description:

Research grants may be used to employ assistants (technical or professional) or student trainees, to remunerate professional advisors, to purchase materials and supplies, and to support field travel costs related to research.

The award will recognize excellence in research promoting the advancement of clinical practice of manual and neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy. Research must fall under one of the following categories Prognosis, Diagnosis, Efficacy, Causation or Knowledge translation. CAMPT supports research related to musculoskeletal disease and orthopaedic manipulative/musculoskeletal physiotherapy through a number of funding mechanisms including personnel awards, grants in aid, and strategic research initiatives. The award, valued at $5,000, provides seed funding for pilot research projects in physiotherapy and funds educational opportunities to build research capacity in physiotherapy.

Application Details:

Research projects must have a defined objective that is designed to further develop the art and science of physiotherapy.

A specific eligibility criterion for this award is that the successful applicant must be a Canadian resident. Applications for research grants must be received at the Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada's offices by 5pm January 30, 2012 on the current Application Form (applicants are responsible for making certain they are using current version of the application regulations and guidelines). Applicants must submit two hard copies and one soft copy of the completed application and all attachments.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
