The New Research and Scholarly Initiative Awards for Major Grants are to promote the academic development of the University by assisting with the start-up and transition costs associated with new innovative academic development projects.

The ADF Major Grant competitions are intended to support Special Projects and are not for the support or maintenance of existing or ongoing programs.

Application Details:

The program is administered by Research Western under the general terms of reference of the Academic Development Fund. Applications may be made by individuals, disciplinary teams, and cross-and-interdisciplinary teams, including those with external matching funds for the support of scholarly acquisitions and the initiation of frontier research.

Application forms and program guidelines are reviewed and possibly updated each competition. Completed proposals will be administered in electronic format only.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
