Description:	The New Research and Scholarly Initiative Awards for Small Grants are funded jointly by the Academic Development Fund and the Research Promotion Fund and are intended to support the cost of research projects of modest scope. These awards include seed money, one-time requests and projects of short duration. Preference will be given to applications that offer a clear rationale for the proposed research, exhibit innovation, and contain a budget explaining fully how the money requested will be spent.

Application Details:	The program is administered by Research Western under the general terms of reference of the Academic Development Fund. Application forms are revised from year to year. New forms are posted at this site when updates to applications and guidelines are completed, generally in August of each year. Completed proposals will be administered in electronic format only. INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
