Description:

To contribute to the creation, dissemination and use of health-related knowledge, and to help develop and maintain Canadian health research capacity, by supporting original, high quality projects proposed and conducted by individual researchers or groups

Secondary analysis grants are intended to provide an opportunity for expert analysis of existing data sets and by doing so, improve the evidence for decision-making and create new knowledge in maternal and child population health and health care, aging, neurosciences, mental health and addiction, Aboriginal health and health services and policy research. The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are: to conduct analyses of anonymized population health and health services data; to explore other types of data (social services, education, justice) that could provide cross-sectoral health impacts; to support research that will inform and engage decision makers; and to promote effective knowledge translation through continuous and sustained interactions between researchers and end-users of the research.
