Description:

The objective of this funding opportunity is to develop future leaders in trials research who can direct the conception, design and implementation of randomized controlled trials. The goals will be realized by a mentoring program in which investigators will learn how to initiate and conduct high quality randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from experienced mentors in highly active trial centres. The immediate aim of this mentoring program is to enable the mentee to independently develop and submit to CIHR a randomized controlled trials full application at the end of the mentoring program.

Reminder to applicants: Please ensure that your application is complete (includes all required signatures) and is submitted on time to CIHR. Submission Requirements Your Application must be submitted using ResearchNet.Scan and upload the signed signature pages including the routing slip in the Print/Upload Signature Pages task in ResearchNet prior to submitting your application. The mentor/supervisor and mentee/trainee must apply together as a pair. Each mentor/supervisor and mentee/trainee may submit only one application per year to CIHR.

Application Details: The Nominated Principal Applicant must be a trainee and must: *hold or be completing a PhD degree. The applicant must expect to complete all of the requirements of the PhD by the latest possible date on which the award can be taken up (see section Effective Dates);OR *be a graduate of a recognized health professional discipline Please see sponsor guidelines for full details
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
