Description:

In general, team grants support expert teams of talented and experienced researchers carrying out high-quality research on important health issues best addressed through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. These teams provide superior research training and mentorship environments, and support the production of new knowledge and the translation of research findings into improved health and health care.

The goal of the HIV Comorbidity Team Grants is to improve the health of people living with HIV/AIDS in Canada by supporting the development or enhancement of expert teams of investigators and their partners undertaking collaborative, multi-disciplinary research relevant to the CIHR HIV Comorbidity Research Agenda. The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to: Support high-quality, novel and innovative research; Foster a multi-disciplinary and multi-themed approach to address the complex issues of comorbidities for people living with HIV/AIDS; Build capacity in HIV comorbidity research by supporting teams that actively engage established researchers, new investigators, researchers new to the topic, trainees, and knowledge users; and Foster and support the translation and exchange of knowledge about HIV comorbidities with researchers and knowledge users.

Application Details:

The application process is comprised of two stages: Letter of Intent and Full Application. CIHR Team Grant proposals will be evaluated as a single, integrated entity. While each research component included in the application must be meritorious, it is critical to demonstrate that the CIHR Team Grant brings added value, in terms of the approach to improving the health of Canadians or strengthening the Canadian health care system.

Applications may be submitted by either emerging teams/networks or existing successful teams/networks. The team must include at least three other members. See CIHR guidelines for more application details. ?Your Application will be submitted using ResearchNet. Scan and upload the signed signature pages including the routing slipin the Print/Upload Signature Pages task in ResearchNet prior to submitting your application.

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
