Description:

In general, team grants support expert teams of talented and experienced researchers carrying out high-quality research on important health issues best addressed through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. These teams provide superior research training and mentorship environments, and support the production of new knowledge and the translation of research findings into improved health and health care.

The purpose of this funding opportunity is to improve health through an increased understanding of how biological, social and environmental exposures impact human health and development. The successful teams are intended to be multi-disciplinary in nature, requiring the engagement of both basic and social scientists. In addition to other measures, each team will be required to include a focus on sex and gender outcomes and are encouraged to consider the ultimate potential policy implications of the research. The team leads will be required to meet on a regular basis in order to share emerging knowledge, determine best practices, and to begin to build a network of Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) researchers.

Application Details: CIHR Team Grant proposals will be evaluated as a single, integrated entity. While each research component included in the application must be meritorious, it is critical to demonstrate that the CIHR Team Grant brings added value, in terms of the approach to improving the health of Canadians or strengthening the Canadian health care system. This funding opportunity has a two step application process. Phase 2 requires you to complete an Application upon invitation. Your Application must be submitted using ResearchNet. Scan and upload the signed signature pages including the routing slip in the Print/Upload Signature Pages task in ResearchNet prior to submitting your application.
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval.
