Subject Areas: Obstetrics or Gynecology, Maternal Health
Description:

In general, team grants support expert teams of talented and experienced researchers carrying out high-quality research on important health issues best addressed through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. These teams provide superior research training and mentorship environments, and support the production of new knowledge and the translation of research findings into improved health and health care.

The Clinician-Investigator Teams in Obstetrics and Maternal-Fetal Medicine initiative is designed to provide practicing clinicians who have limited protected time to undertake research, with the resources they need to establish teams that will increase their capacity to do research. For example, teams might employ a statistician to assist with experimental design and analyses; project coordinators to manage research-related activities; a science writer to increase their capacity to write and publish manuscripts. By supporting clinicians and allied health professionals to undertake research, this initiative will help cultivate the next generation of Canadian researchers in obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine to ensure continued and future research excellence in obstetrics and maternal-fetal health.
