Description:

The CIHR Catalyst Grant program provides seed money, on a short-term basis, to support health research activities which represent a first step towards the pursuit of more comprehensive funding opportunities.

The Institute of Gender and Health has identified clinical interventions for CVD as a priority area to enhance effectiveness and to ensure that related clinical interventions are accessible, appropriate and effective with respect to sex and gender. This funding opportunity is aligned with priorities in CIHR's Roadmap regarding enhancing patient-oriented care and the need to address the burden of chronic diseases.

Application Details:

Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) will not be considered through this program. For projects of a high risk nature, the potential for great scientific gain should offset the risk of failure. There should be minimal or no overlap with other funded work.

The application process for this funding opportunity is comprised of two steps: Registration and Application. To complete your Application, follow the instructions in the Grants - ResearchNet "Application" Phase Instructions along with any additional instructions found below under "Specific Instructions". Your Application will be submitted using ResearchNet. Scan and upload the signed signature pages including the routing slip in the Print/Upload Signature Pages task in ResearchNet prior to submitting your application.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
