Description:

The CIHR Catalyst Grant program provides seed money, on a short-term basis, to support health research activities which represent a first step towards the pursuit of more comprehensive funding opportunities.

This funding opportunity is aligned with the CIHR Strategic Plan (Health Research Roadmap) research priority "Reduce health inequities of Aboriginal peoples and other vulnerable populations". The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are: - To support the development of partnerships between the community and researchers to facilitate the conduct of community-based research; and/or -To support the development of future applications for more comprehensive community-based research grants.

Application Details:

Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) will not be considered through this program. For projects of a high risk nature, the potential for great scientific gain should offset the risk of failure. There should be minimal or no overlap with other funded work.

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
