Description:

Effective July 2011, the Meetings, Planning and Dissemination Grant Program (MPD) has been separated into three distinct programs. CIHR's mandate is to excel, according to internationally accepted standards of scientific excellence, in the creation of new knowledge and its translation into improved health, more effective health services and products, and a strengthened health care system. An important part of this knowledge translation is the dissemination and application of health research evidence.

The specific objective of this funding opportunity is to support events/activities that contribute to the dissemination, exchange and uptake of research evidence. Events/activities may focus on, but are not limited to, the following: Education of groups such as patients, health professionals, community organizations, policy-makers, the general public; Education of stakeholders regarding partnership best practices; Knowledge dissemination that will inform practice, clinical care, policy and decision making; Dissemination and/or discussion of research findings at scientific meetings, workshops, conferences, congresses or symposia.

Application Details:

The CIHR Knowledge Translation (KT) Branch will provide support to dissemination events/activities that focus on the communication of health research evidence to the appropriate researcher and/or knowledge user audience(s), tailoring the message and medium as appropriate.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BUDGET

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
