Description: |
SRCFC Major Grants support biomedical research into intellectual impairment focused on the
following:
a) The causes and eventual cure of intellectual impairment, such as Autism and Down
Syndrome, especially as it affects children.
b) The causes and eventual cure of Alzheimer's Disease.
c) Research into other forms of intellectual impairment may be considered.
Note: The focus of the research should be on the causes and cure of the disease as opposed to the
active treatment or palliative care. Applications will be assessed according to the following criteria:
a) The quality of the proposed research project,
b) Relevance to the focus areas described above,
c) Potential impact on the field of research and the focus group.
Applications submitted in other formats will not be accepted for review and the application will be rejected without review. Original signatures are only required only on the hard copy submitted directly to the office; electronic signatures are not acceptable. The hard copy application you submit must match the application that you submit electronically word for word or it will not be accepted for review. |

Application Details: |
Grants are awarded for a maximum of three years contingent on the receipt of progress reports
and proven research results. Renewal applications for a second three-year term will be
considered under exceptional circumstances. Grantees will not be supported in excess of 6 years
maximum. Applications are limited to researchers who have no more than five (5) years experience as an independent investigator as of January 1, 2011. he deadline for receipt of applications is April 30, 2011. When the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the next business day will be considered the deadline date. The Research Grant application package consists of the following items: Research Grant Form and Application Guide. The form has been designed for Windows in Microsoft Word? v2003 to allow you to complete it on your computer. If you are unable to use the format provided, please download the Adobe Acrobat? PDF version to print the form. Please note that only the 2011 version of the application forms will be accepted. All applicants MUST refer to the Application Guide when completing an application.INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM. |
NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. |
