Description:

Level II Research Awards fund research involving: Empirical research, including qualitative or quantitative research or experiments. Any researcher working in Canada is eligible to apply. The majority of data collection must be conducted within Ontario communities and focus on Ontario residents.

The Ontario Problem Gambling Research Centre (OPGRC) is pleased to announce that applications for Mid-Level ($42,000) Research Grants are now being accepted for research that will create new, relevant knowledge in the following areas: factors influencing population risk and resilience; interaction between gamblers, environment, technology and the combined effect on risk of onset and progression of problems; improvements to prevention, harm minimization and treatment systems resulting in better understanding of best practices and population health.

Application Details:

Level II funding can be used for: A stand-alone research project or pilot project; Conducting preliminary research in preparation for a Level III research project, such as instrument development and testing; and Research tasks subsequent to a full research project, such as follow-up testing, or secondary data analysis.

All applications must be received before 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date, by applying online. You can apply for any open application from the front page of the OPGRC website. NOTE - SIGNATURE REQUIREMENTS: When submitting an application, send one copy of the signed Cover page or Certifications Page by fax or by scanning and attaching it as a .gif, .tiff, or .jpeg file. Faxed or scanned pages must be received by 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date.

INDIRECT COSTS OF 20% MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT BUDGET

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
