All proposals are required to provide a rationale as to why an investment in their research project is important to Ontario. Applicants are expected to demonstrate meaningful and verifiable private sector commitment, through private sector financial/cash and/or in-kind contributions and evidence of the private sector's vested interest in the research.

The information provided may be shared with other Ontario ministries, agencies and government-funded not-for-profit corporations for the purpose of strategic value assessment.
