Description:

The BRIDGES project seeks to solicit proposals that support cost effective and sustainable interventions that can be adopted in real world settings, for the prevention and control of diabetes. Projects should be based on interventions already proven to be effective in trials to prevent and treat diabetes, to improve care of type 1 and type 2 diabetes and delay its complications. The interventions proposed should have the potential to be widely disseminated to clinical practice, individuals and communities. The scope of the funding is to help communities around the globe to identify special needs related to intervention and prevention. BRIDGES supports 2 types of projects: Short-term projects for a maximum duration of 2 years and a maximum amount of USD 65,000 & Long term projects for a maximum duration of 3 years and a maximum amount of USD 400,000.

BRIDGES 4th round is dedicated to short term projects (maximum 2 years and up to USD 65.000).

Application Details: BRIDGES (Bringing Research in Diabetes to Global Environments and Systems) is a programme initiated by the International Diabetes Federation, and supported by an educational grant from Eli Lilly and Company. BRIDGES aims to fund translational research* projects in diabetes prevention and treatment to provide the opportunity to `translate" lessons learned from clinical research to those who can benefit most: people affected by diabetes.The completed document should be sent to IDF Executive Office by email: bridges@idf.org. The completed signature page must be email: bridges@idf.org or faxed to: + 32 (0) 2 538 51 14 by the deadline date. The application form must be sent as a word document. The budget should be sent a word or excel document. No PDFs accepted.
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
