Description: |
The Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) and the Alzheimer's Society (UK) are partnering together to issue this RFP to specially target the development of repurposed drugs for Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. For the purposes of this RFP, repurposed drugs includes both drugs that have been approved for other indications as well as compounds still under development for other conditions (sometimes referred to as `repositioning'). Applications may be submitted by non-profit academic institutions and for-profit biotechnology companies, both public and private, worldwide. Applicants can apply for funding in the range of $100,000 up to $1.5M per application, depending on the stage of the research project. |

Application Details: |
Submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI) through ADDF's online system is required at least 2 weeks prior to this deadline. A Letter of Intent (LOI) is required to determine the ADDF's interest prior to a full application. If the submitted Letter of Intent is not consistent with our mission, a full proposal will not be invited. Support is provided for personnel costs, supplies (i.e., consumables, chemicals, animals), small non-durable equipment up to $2,500, consultants, and patient costs related to clinical trials.Support is not provided for indirect costs/overhead, capital equipment, equipment service contracts, publication costs, or travel.NO SUPPORT FOR INDIRECT COSTS |

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
