Internal: N/A
Sponsor's: N/A

Subject Areas: Genome Engineering
Description:

The NGEC supports innovative exploratory work outside of the core goals of the NGEC that contributes to the development of genome engineering, and/or potentially contributes to or expands applications of NGEC core work.

Funding will be awarded based on discussions of the review committee, with the major criteria for evaluation of each project being the relationship of the project to genome engineering and overall goals of the NGEC, the scientific strength of the proposal and numerical scores provided by reviewers. This program provides a $50,000 grant the first year, with a possible second year at $75,000 (direct costs).

Application Details:

The only requirement for a project to be considered for funding is that the project must carry out exploratory work in a genome engineering-related field. This program is administered with a rolling application cycle and proposals will be considered as they are received.

Please submit a letter outlining your research proposal to the NGEC project coordinator, Andre Durudas. Letters will be reviewed by NGEC members and full applications will be solicited for selected proposals. Submit applications as a PDF file by e-mail to the NGEC project coordinator, Andre Durudas.

INDIRECT COSTS OF 8% MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE BUDGET

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
