Through this award, The Sontag Foundation seeks to support early career scientists who show outstanding promise. With diverse career paths, that characterization is often difficult to define. We have chosen to define it narrowly with the belief that early funding will help launch or accelerate the awardee's independent research in the field of brain cancer. |

Application Details: |
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in a biomedical science, medicine, or other health-related field. At the time of application, applicants must hold their first independent full-time faculty appointment at the level of assistant professor, independent researcher or equivalent position at a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) academic, research or medical institution within the United States or an equivalent institution in Canada. If the institution grants tenure, the qualifying appointment must be on the tenure track. Applicant's initial faculty appointment must have been made no earlier than March 1, 2008. Applicant's career track and proposed research should demonstrate potential to generate new knowledge relating to causes, cure or treatment of primary brain tumors/brain cancer. You're required to use the official forms provided in order to successfully submit an application. Please use MS Word to electronically fill your forms. To avoid formatting problems, use TAB key rather than ENTER key between questions and within the space allotted for each answer.
After completion, please mail your original application plus five (5) copies to: The Sontag Foundation.INDIRECT COSTS OF 15% MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT BUDGET |

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. |
