Description:

The Chordoma Foundation is offering peer-reviewed grants to support investigator-initiated research projects that will advance the development of effective treatments for chordoma. These one to two year seed grants are intended to enable investigators to start projects, test hypotheses, or generate preliminary data that could help leverage additional funding sources and lead to sustained chordoma research programs.

Appropriate areas of investigation for this RFA include, but are not limited to: Identifying mechanisms driving chordoma pathogenesis; Characterizing potential therapeutic targets for chordoma; Developing and characterizing chordoma model systems; Developing and testing therapies for chordoma.

Application Details:

Independent investigators with a doctoral degree (MD, PhD or equivalent) at any stage of their career are eligible to apply. Interested applicants should submit a letter of intent (maximum 2 pages) describing the project aims and how seed funding from the Chordoma Foundation will benefit the applicant's long-term chordoma research goals. Email the (i) letter of intent, (ii) principle investigator biosketch, and (iii) names and contact information of up to three recommended reviewers in Microsoft Word format to grants@chordoma.org no later than July 15th. Invitations to submit an application will be made within 10 days of receipt of the letter of intent.

Applications may be submitted by investigators at not for profit research institutions in any country. The application deadline for those invited to submit an application is August 15th.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE IN THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
